Jane Rutter soars above the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra in a gorgeous rendition of Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending in this stunning concert conducted by Dr Sarah Penicka-Smith. The flute superstar also performs Vivaldi’s birdsong-inspired ‘Goldfinch’ concerto alongside a special performance on bamboo flute. The transcendent voices of the Willoughby Symphony Choir perform Morten Lauridsen’s radiant Lux Aeterna, while history is made when the winner of the 2025 Young Composer Award is performed for the first time. The cheerful Overture to Rossini’s The Thieving Magpie opens the concert with a bang.
